Why Vail Mountain Should Be Your Next Skiing Destination

Below, you can explore the highlights that make a ski trip to Vail truly unforgettable, including the vast terrain of Vail Mountain and the legendary Back Bowls that skiers dream about long after the season ends:

Vail Mountain

Vail Mountain is famous for its size, beauty, and variety, and it lives up to its reputation as the second-largest ski resort in North America, the moment you step onto the slopes. The mountain, standing at 11,570 feet with a base of 8,120 feet, rises proudly over an inviting landscape. Skiers and riders have 5,317 acres to explore along with 278 trails served by 32 efficient lifts, which makes it easy to discover new favorites each day.

The Legendary Back Bowls

The Back Bowls are the heart of a Vail Mountain ski trip and the reason so many skiers return year after year. Spread across seven expansive bowls and more than 2,700 skiable acres, this high alpine playground offers a feeling of freedom that is difficult to find anywhere else.

Sun Down Bowl greets skiers with warm afternoon light and a maze of hidden lines that invite exploration. Right next door, Sun Up Bowl offers classic wide open skiing with gentle rollovers and easy connections to other areas.

Tea Cup Bowl is located between Sun Up and China Bowl. It often features soft snow and playful glades, creating a cozy, secluded atmosphere away from the rest of the mountain. In contrast, China Bowl offers a mix of easy groomed runs and challenging steep slopes, ensuring there’s something enjoyable for every skier.

Siberia Bowl blends smooth glades with dramatic drops, creating a fun mix of challenge and flow. For those willing to venture farther, Inner and Outer Mongolia offer a peaceful escape where the snow stays untouched and the scenery feels almost endless.

We look forward to welcoming you to the Antlers at Vail, where comfort, convenience, and mountain charm come together naturally for an unforgettable ski trip!
