At Antlers at Vail, we know your four-legged companion is part of the family—and no mountain getaway is complete without them. That’s why we proudly offer pet-friendly condos along with easy access to the best dog-friendly activities the Vail-Lionshead, CO, has to offer. While exploring, remember that pups must stay within 10 feet of their owner and respond to voice commands in residential areas. Additionally, leashes are required in commercial zones, including Vail Village, Lionshead, Golden Peak, Cascade Village, Ford Park, and the West Vail shopping district.

In Vail, dogs are a cherished part of the mountain lifestyle. Read on for your guide to pet-friendly adventures during your stay at Antlers at Vail!

Explore Pet-Friendly Hiking Trails in the Vail Area

Vail is home to a network of breathtaking pet-friendly trails that welcome leashed dogs. Below are 4 of our favorites:

  1. One of the most popular options is Booth Falls Trail, where you and your dog can hike through beautiful alpine scenery and be rewarded with the sight of a stunning waterfall.
  2. The Vail Scavenger Hunt offers a fun, pet‑friendly, self‑guided walking adventure through Vail Village—leashed dogs are welcome to join as you and your pup explore art, history, riddles, and scenic spots along Gore Creek together.
  3. The Vail Nature Center offers peaceful, dog‑friendly trails that wind creekside through meadows and forest, with leashed pups even invited on occasional guided “dog hikes” led by naturalists.
  4. For a more leisurely stroll, the Strawberry Lane Trail is considered only moderately difficult and stays pretty close to Vail!
  5. The Gore Creek Trail is a pet-friendly route in Vail that climbs alongside the creek for the first 4 miles, winding through meadows and aspen groves before rising into conifer forests and alpine tundra.

Enjoy Off-Leash Fun at Stephens Park

Most parks in Vail welcome leashed dogs, except for Ford Park, where many lively events are hosted at the amphitheater and areas within 100 feet of athletic fields during events. Dog waste bag stations are conveniently placed throughout town to make clean-up easy. For off-leash fun, check out these two pet-friendly dog parks in Vail:

  1. If your dog needs to burn off some extra energy, Stephens Park Off-Leash Dog Area in West Vail is the perfect spot.
  2. A portion of Bighorn Park in East Vail is also off-leash friendly!
