Here at Antlers at Vail, we love our guests. And, we especially love seeing them year after year. Our welcoming lobby is a popular place for guests to gather, particularly during our ski season weekly wine and cheese receptions. It is always fun to catch up with our extended family there.

We are launching a featured guest series here on our blog to celebrate these guests, who have become a part of our family. We’ll be sharing a little bit of information that these guests from around the country and world have kindly provided. If you are a guest who is interested in being featured please drop us a note to sales (at) antlersvail.com.

Helen & Glen Sims

Who do you travel with when you visit Antlers at Vail? How long do you stay? Where do you travel from?

Helen and Glen first discovered Antlers at Vail in the early 1970s while visiting Vail as recent graduates. At the time, travelers could call a local Vail 800-number for hotel recommendations. Looking for a property with stunning views and a kitchen that suited their love of cooking, they were referred to Antlers at Vail, and it has been their home in Vail ever since.

How many times have you stayed at the Antlers and what keeps you returning?

Mr. and Mrs. Sims travel together from North Carolina. What began as a one- to two-week Thanksgiving tradition to unwind from work schedules has since evolved into extended month-long stays, sometimes twice a year.

Any special memories or favorite moments you’d be willing to share?

One memorable moment was when an Antlers team member, Ana, went out of her way to assist Mr. Sims after he was injured during a stay, quickly securing crutches and making sure he was comfortable. It’s that kind of thoughtful, above-and-beyond care that makes Antlers at Vail feel like home.

Any staff member you would like to highlight?

“All of them!” The Sims especially recognize Rob Levine, Magda King, Chris Manning, Gladys and Juanita from housekeeping, Gabe, and the entire front desk team. They note that from the moment you walk in, it’s clear the staff is organized and that Antlers at Vail is run very well.
