Antlers at Vail hotel rewards green-minded volunteers who join cleanup efforts

Guest volunteers join Antlers at Vail staff in annual spring highway cleanup set for April 25, 2015 – with a free
picnic lunch and night’s stay at the Antlers as a thank you.
Vail, Colo. – April 17, 2015 – There is such a thing as a free lunch – and lodging, too – in Vail, Colo. For the 5th year, the Antlers at Vail hotel will reward anyone who wants to help with their annual spring highway cleanup with a free picnic lunch in Broken Arrow at Arrowhead and a free night’s stay at the Antlers. The eco-friendly community service project takes place Saturday morning, April 25, and a couple of hours of picking trash entitles volunteers to a complimentary overnight stay either Friday, April 24 or Saturday, April 25.
“While we’ve been cleaning up our two-mile stretch of Vail Pass since 1988,” says Antlers at Vail GM Rob LeVine in a recent blog post about the upcoming Pickin’ and Picnickin’ event, “we’ve also started joining the Community Pride highway cleanup arranged through the Eagle River Watershed Council. The past couple of years we’ve had a handful of guests join us and had a ton of fun, so we’re bringing it back again.” Call 800-843-8245 for more information or to participate; room availability may be limited based on number of participants.
The Antlers at Vail’s annual spring cleanup campaign is only one in a laundry list of the hotels eco-friendly business practices (yes, including a green laundry!) that have helped set the standard in green hospitality for the Vail area for decades. The hotel was recently awarded TripAdvisor Green Leader status and was one of the first Vail businesses to be certified Actively Green 2015 by the Vail Valley Foundation, as well as being named Green Business of the Year in the 2009 Vail Valley Success Awards.
