One of my very close college friends came to visit me this past weekend which allowed me to act like a tourist. We spent our evenings walking and dining in both Lionshead and Vail Village; we took the Gondola up for breathtaking views, enjoyed the Mardi Gras events, and was even able to get a little bit of rest.Since the weather’s been bright and sunny, we took advantage and rented some snowshoes. After getting some great tips we ascended onto the North Trail in West Vail, into unknown territory (for both of us), and felt as though the mountain was ours. It being both our first snowshoeing experience, we may not have trekked far and wide but we were thankful for the spectacular scenery and nature. I truly live in a beautiful place.
