Vail Jazz presents Vail Jazz at the Market. Taking place on Sundays throughout the summer from noon – 3 pm, delight yourself with jazz at the Solaris Terrace while enjoying the Vail Farmer’s Market. On July 10th, The Girshevich Trio will perform. Before his family emigrated to the US, Vlad studied classical piano for 11 years at The Uspenski School of Music and The Conservatory in his hometown of Tashkent, the capital of Uzbekistan.  After moving to Colorado, he was “discovered” while playing at The Little Nell in Aspen, by Herbie Hancock who subsequently invited him to participate in the Thelonious Monk Institute.  Since then Vlad has appeared at numerous jazz festivals and has performed with Bob Berg, Stanley Jordan, Ernie Watts, Arturo Sandoval and many others.  Vlad is joined by his son Aleks, a young drumming phenom, now 15, who recorded his first album at 10!  Rounding out the trio is Bill McCrossen, one of NY’s most in-demand bassists for orchestra and Broadway work; he has also worked extensively on recordings for TV productions, commercials and artists in all genres.  Look for the new CD Algorithmic Society by The Girshevich Trio featuring Eddie Gomez.
